About the river project

The journey of The River Project TX began with a small but impactful fundraiser. Our founder, inspired by a personal experience with her son River's autism diagnosis, sought to make a difference in the community. Initially, the news of River's diagnosis was devastating, but a simple, beautiful moment under a tree transformed her perspective. This newfound understanding and appreciation for River's unique view of the world ignited a passion to support others on similar journeys.

• Our first fundraiser was modest, raising $500 for a local equine therapy facility. 

• The following year, we expanded our efforts, raising $1,800 to update the sensory room at River's school. 

• By 2023, our "Riding for River" event drew 400+ attendees and raised an incredible $11,000, all of which was donated to support special education students.

•  At our last event, River Jam '24, we had 500 attendees and raised $23,000 for Wood County SSA, with additional donations going to local ETX SPED in the coming months.
